Product Descriptions and Properties

Coenzyme Q10 plays an important role in the production of chemical energy in the mitochondria and in ATP synthesis. Co enzyme also functions as an antioxidant which is very important in its clinical effects. Coenzyme Q10 can prevent the production of harmful free radicals, which are released by cells at times of stress, including heart surgery.

Pharmacokinetics

Some reports have been published on the pharmacokinetics of CoQ10. The plasma peak can be observed 2–6 hours after oral administration, mainly depending on the design of the study. In some studies, a second plasma peak was also observed at about 24 hours after administration, probably due to both enterohepatic recycling and redistribution from the liver to circulation.

Pharmacodynamic

Coenzyme Q10 plays an important role in the production of chemical energy in the mitochondria and in ATP synthesis. This remarkable compound works by converting food and supplements (as needed) into ""packets of fuel"" known as adenosine triphosphate (ATP) that energize cells. The Body can only store very little at a time. Coenzyme Q10 helps to renew the supply. Although our body have the ability to make Coenzyme , as we ingest it from foods, certain factors deplete it: such as illness,physical, mental and aging.

Persons who are hypersensitive to the Coenzyme Q10 should not take CoQ-Care

Drug Interactions

Concomitant use of warfarin (Coumadin) and Coenzyme Q 10 supplemts has been reported to decrease the anticoagulant effect of warfarin in at lest four cases.An individual on warfarin should not begin taking Coenzyme Q10 supplemnts without consulting the health care provider that is managing his or her anticoagulant therapy. If warfarin and Coenzyme Q10 are to be used concomitantly, blood tests to assess clotting time(prothrombin time;PT/INR) shoud be monitored frequently,especially in the first two weeks.
 

Side Effects

Coenz Q10 is well tolerated and no serious adverse effects have been associated with its use.To date these include epigastric discomfort,appetite suppression,nausea and diarrhea.
 

Dosage And Administration

1 to 2 capsules in divided doses daily.
