Motility Inhibitors
Indications
Acute and chronic Diarrhoea as an adjunctive therapy with proper rehydration. After colostomy or ileostomy for control of stool formation. Symtomatic relief in ulcerative colitis.
Contraindication
Contraindicated in patients in known hypersensitivity to diphenoxylate or atropine and patients with jaundice. LOMOTIL is also contraindicated in patients with diarrhoea associated with pseudomemranous enterocolitis or enterotoxin producing bacteria..
Side Effects
Sedation, confusion, dizziness, hallucination, headache, nausea
Warning and Precautions
Use with care in ulcerative colitis, hepato renal disease.
Dosage
12 years and above 1 – 2 tablets thrice or four times in a day.
