    Description / Properties

    RELISPA is a highly potent spasmolytic agent, directly acting on the smooth muscle cells but devoid of anticholinergic effects. RELISPA is suited for the relief or preventation of smooth muscle spasm of various organs, regardless of their function and innervation.

    Indications

    Smooth muscle spasms connected with diseases of biliary origin: cholelithiasis, cholangiolithiasis, cholecystitis,pericholecystitis, cholangitis,apillitis.Smooth muscle spasm of the urinary tract: nephrolithiaisis, ureterolithiasis, pyelitis, cystitis,vesical tenesmus.As Adjuvant: smooth muscle spasms of gastrointestinal origin:gastric and duodenal ulcer, gastritis, enteritis, colitis, cardia and pylorus spasm, irritable colon syndrome, spastic constipation or gas syndrome,pancreatitis.Headaches of vascular origin.In Gynaecological diseases:Dysmenorrhoea, adnexitis, strong labour pains,tetanus uteri and imminent abortion.

    Contraindication

    Severe hepatic, renal and cardiac insufficiency (low out put syndrome), AV- block of II-III degree

    Drug Interactions

    When administered together with Levodopa it decreases its antiparkinsonian effect, rigidity and tremor increase.

    Side Effects

    Headache, Vertigo, nausea, palpitation, very rare hypotension.

    Warning and Precautions

    It may be administered with increased caution in case of hypotension. IV- because of the risk of collapse-it can only be administered to patients in recumbent position. Because of the lactose content of the tablet, it may cause gastrointestinal complaints in patients suffering from lactose intolerance. In the absence of sufficient clinical data, it may only be applied in pregnancy and during lactation with careful weighing of the benefit / risk ratio.

    Dosage

  • Adults: 120 to 240mg/day (3 to 6 tablets a day in 2-3 parts)
  • Children 1 to 6 years: 40 to 120mg/day (1/2 to 1 tablet, 2 or 3 times a day)
  • Children over 6 years: 80 to 200mgiday (2 to 5 tablets/day)
