Description / Properties
Uflora™ is a Probiotic capsule indicated in Bacterial Vaginosis(BV) and management of urinary tract infections (UTI).
MICROBIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Lactobacilli are gram-positive rods, primarily facultative or strict anaerobes that generally have a fastidious growth requirement.
They prefer an acidic environment and help create one by producing lactic and other acids
PROPERTIES
Both the strains survive at low Ph, and bile salts of stomach, and pass through the intestine and then ascend through functional intervention into the vagina
L-reuteri RC-14, is effective against enterocci and produces a biosurfactants with marked anti-inflammatory activity
L-rhamnosus GR-1, and L-reuteri RC-14 were the strain of choice, becausethey originate from the female urogenital tract, since they colonize the vagina when administered orally
Lactobacillus-RC-14, secrete collagen binding proteins that prevent pathogens adhesion, produce Hydrogen peroxide which are inhibitory to other pathogenic microorganisms
Both RC-14 and GR-1 adhere to epithelial cells and inhibit pathogen binding and translocation. They also produce, Bacteriocins, and acids that kill pathogens
In-vitro, they were shown to adhere to Urethral and vaginal cells block pathogenic bacterial adherence and, effectively dominate the vaginal flora.

PID - Cervicitis, Endometritis
Tubal infertility
Abortion
Preterm Birth
HIV & STD
Yeast Vaginitis
Management of Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) & Complications:
Recurrent UTI
Urethritis, Cystitis
Urethral Syndrome
Post Operative Urogenital Infections
Side Effects
No known adverse effects have been reported.
Storage
Store in a cool dry place. Protect from light and heat. Replace the lid immediately.
Dosage
1- 2 capsules per day or as advised by the Physician.
